The Park Police Training Section provides officers and supervisors with an information and research service for questions on laws, procedures, rules and regulations. The Training Section maintains training records on all personnel, and accomplishes many other tasks as assigned by the Chief of the Park Police. The Park Police Training 
Section also conducts a 18-week (720 hours) Park Police Orientation Academy for all newly hired Park Police candidates. The academy covers topics such as Report Writing, Public Relations, Penal Law, Traffic Law, Tactics, as well as state mandated courses such as Child Abuse, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and Firearms Qualification.
